- Cefuroxime is a cephalosporin antibiotic and is prescribed to treat infections with susceptible bacteria including skin and middle ear infections, tonsillitis, throat infections, laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and gonorrhea.

- In response to neuroleptics or antipsychotic medications, a life-threatening reaction that is characterized of high fever, sweating, rigid muscles, changing blood pressure, rapid heart beat and sweating can occur. This is usually referred to as neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS).
